The Ibanez Axion Label is a further development in the already versatile range of guitars on offer from Ibanez. The Axion label was made for metal, but offers even more for the adventurous players out there. The Axion Label models feature forward-thinking developments in sound, playability and looks - all which evokes higher, deeper and heavier performances. Essentially its what Ibanez see as the guitars of the future, not specifically pigeon-holed to shred and metal but offering so many comfortable and versatile features for guitar purists.
The range offers 9 new models including two 7-string and two multi-scale options. All models come equipped with a Schaller S-Lock strap lock which holds a strap securely but is simple to put on and take off quickly. The side of the neck features luminescent side dot inlays to make it easier for players to perform on dark stages, matching the dazzling luminescent Ibanez headstock logo.
Like a lot of companies Ibanez have turned to the British made pickup brand Bareknuckles for the RGD range of Axion Label guitars. They give the player that modern metal tone which they have become famous for. More and more players are looking to alternative pickup options to develop the range of their tone and to push their playing further into the future.
The other pickups featured in the Axion range on the RDG series are the DiMarzio® Fusion Edge Pickups. Through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio® Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with a crisp, cutting high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end - minus any muddy mid-range. The RGD series also features Gotoh® MG-T locking machine heads which have incredible tuning stability, cutting down string-changing time.
Ibanez have also thrown in 2 S series guitars to the Axion Label range. Both feature Fishman® Fluence Modern Humbucker pickups which provide an aggressive tone and a powerful attack without excess noise. The Fluence pickups alongside the Bareknuckles have become increasingly popular with metal players for their unique tones and diversity. The S Series guitars also feature the Gotoh locking heads like the RGD series.
The necks on the Axion series are a Nitro Wizard 5pc Panga Panga/Walnut neck. This neck is super-thin, ultra-playable, comfortable and substantially increases sustain.
